Hey everyone, it's not easy finding the words for this post, but I wanted to keep you all in the loop about a significant part of my life right now. Last May, a routine CT scan uncovered cysts on my left ovary, and what followed has been a journey of medical consultations and unexpected turns.
After seeking opinions from three different OBGYNs and feeling somewhat brushed off, a thorough ultrasound revealed a complex locular cyst with a small mass in the middle. The concerning part was its blood flow, carrying a 20% chance of malignancy. The quest for answers led to a referral to a GYN oncologist, setting the stage for what comes next.
This past Wednesday, we had an appointment at the TGH cancer center, a place that holds significance for us as it's where we exchanged vows before an emergency surgery in June 2022. The oncologist, knowledgeable and reassuring, leans towards a benign diagnosis, but the uncertainty persists. Surgery is scheduled for February 16, involving the removal of my left ovary and fallopian tube, followed by a significant period of rest.
While the doctor expresses confidence in a positive outcome, there's a small shadow of the "C" word. Adding to the complexity is our decision to move back home to South Carolina on March 22. With surgery looming, we'll be juggling packing and preparations in the midst of this medical journey.
I'm sharing this not only as an update but also as a request for your thoughts and prayers for my husband, family, and friends as we navigate the next challenging two months. Your support is a source of strength for us, and we are immensely grateful for the love and positivity you've always brought into our lives.
For those who wish to lend additional support during this time, we've set up a Meal Train to help with dinners while I am on the road to recovery. Your generosity is truly appreciated, and you can contribute at [Meal Train Donation Page](https://mealtrain.com/nogk47).
Life is unpredictable, and sometimes we're faced with challenges that test our strength and resilience. As we step into this uncertain chapter, I find solace in the support of our community. Thank you for being a part of our journey; your thoughts and prayers mean the world.
Stay tuned for updates, and let's face the road ahead with hope and courage. 🌟💖
